The 2 dealers that I deal with, both gave me quotes on installing a model 430 loader, one quote was $4150. and the other was $3800(dual control valve etc. included) turnkey picked up and delivered.Does this sound like it is in line with what the other JD dealers would charge?I think it is awfully high, but then again everything is with these tractors.

Hillbilly,
I do not think your prices are too far off...If you check jdlawns.com, they get
$615 for the dual SCV plus $3255 for the loader (with std bucket I think) for a
total of $3870, and based on my experience they (jplan) tend to be a bit lower than most dealers in my (Northern NJ) area...so your prices of $3800-$4150 seem in ballpark of where they should be...price can also vary based on bucket
(61" or 72", std or heavy duty) and whether BLI (Bucket Level Indicator) is
included, as well as whether dealer is going to include a charge for pick-up/delivery and set-up. - Good luck shopping! - ....
